Rob Groves – The Hero of the abandoned dogs

In 2006 Rob’s life changed completely. An accident left Rob Groves paralyzed from chest down. But this did not defeat him, after a very bad time when accepting the changes of his life was very hard, he continued to fight for what makes sense to his life: fighting for his family doing good and saving the animals all over the world. Rob became a hero of dogs, especially those in Romania where he and Paws2Rescue.com fought and continue to do so to save as many souls as possible.

That dark place where it looks like life has got it in for you and is laughing at all your misfortune. Rob Groves, competitive disabled athlete: Over the last ten years Rob has overcome many physical and mental barriers. Over the last 3 years, Rob has completed in many hand-cycling events others believed impossible. These events have included Hand cycling from London to Brighton, 24 hour endurance race at Thurxton Motor circuit in which he qualified for Race across America in 2018, Ride100, hand cycled from Scotland to London 600 miles in November 2014 and in July 2017 he hand cycled the coastline of the England, 2,500 miles in 27 days, raising funds for his charities.

He set up Quest4hope – a project to encourage you to connect with your passion in saving the planet and its entire species, to bring friends and people together and help others at the same time by being a voice for the voiceless.

Rob Groves, Cefn 0’Rayn and Paul Guest were taking part in a 26.2 mile marathon on the streets of Bucharest to Sunday 10th June 2018, organised by Paws2Rescue and their team in Romania. Raising awareness and donations for the rehabilitation of children and animals in need.

  • Cefn O’Ryan, 30 years old, former rugby player. Cefn is has played rugby for Wales and is a keen sports person. Last year, he had a serious leg injury and during his rehabilitation he meet Rob Groves.
  • Paul Guest. 53 years old, from Essex, UK Former Navy Regular, Invicta Games 2017 Gold Medal Winner and selected for the Invicta Games Great Britain Squad for Australia 2018.

Rob’s S.O.S Romania challenge is to hand-cycling 1,000 miles In 14 days using his arms only to power him around the UK. Rob’s aim over the 14 days of this live event is to bring awareness to the Stray dogs in Romania supporting and raising funds for Paws2rescue in the amazing work they do in Romania. Each day he will be sharing some of the rescue stories from Paws2rescue in Romania. That big challenge starting Sunday 2nd September 2018 and will finish this challenge on Sunday 16th September.

“ The only thing that stands between you and your dream is the will to try and the belief that it is actually possible. Who knows what miracles you can achieve?You will when you BELIEVE. Never give up and you will find it. A small but still, resilient voice says hope is very near. “
